Architecture Capability / Catalog

Architecture Means Different Things to Different People

Our clients want to know what we can deliver. However, we don’t discuss our offerings in terms of mere Technological Solutions; instead, we focus on our Architectural Capabilities. Every solution arises from a solid architectural foundation, making it crucial to understand the activities we, as Architects, provide. When discussing Architectural capabilities, there are four distinct layers that ECSA can offer, including Cloud Architecture, data architecture, enterprise architecture, security architecture, and solution architecture:

· Governance – When our clients seek assistance in establishing or mentoring their architecture practice, they often request help with several governance activities. This ensures a level of assurance that the architectures, including security architecture, are being developed correctly.

· Strategies and Program Management – Typically the domain of Enterprise Architects and Business Architects, strategies are architectural artifacts that envision the future of a specific area over the next 3 to 5 years. This could pertain to an entire line of business, a particular technological area, or a domain within enterprise architecture.

· Project Delivery – Project Delivery falls under the purview of the Solution Architect. There are two types of architectural activities in this realm: those linked to developing the solution architecture and those focused on supporting the Solution Architect in their endeavors.

· Interaction with Operations – The Operations teams within the IT organization possess critical insights into what works and what doesn’t. Therefore, the Architect must engage with them to gather knowledge that feeds back into the architecture strategies or the projects being delivered, ensuring a continuous improvement cycle.
